This is a really great magazine. Every issue includes one or 2 long interviews of high quality. They look at different aspects of the artist(s) and create a comfortable and casual atmosphere giving you a detailed view of the interviewee(s). The issues also include quite a few political articles. They also add in interesting short facts or notices about what is going on around us. In the back you find reviews on CDs and artists and a list of that week's top hits.
The magazine focusses on various styles of music so you'll guaranteed find at least a couple of articles that will interest you.
Another great thing about Rolling Stone is that you don't have to be a musician to understand it. It doesn't have a lot of hard musical terms in it that you wouldn't understand. But even if you are a musician, like me, it doesn't really matter. Don't buy this magazine if you want to learn how to play an instrument, ITS NOT A TEACHING OR INSTRUCTURAL MAGAZINE. Just a really good recreational, interesting magazine about the entertainment industry with a focus on music and movies and some politics.
The layout of the magazine is also great. A lot the news is in newspaper format and the pictures are of high quality.
Rolling Stone doesn't include a tours list (go to your band's website for that) but it does list some major concerts.
I'd say that this magazine is mostly for teenagers and adults because some of the articles are about shocking events and the language isn't always very appropriate for children.
But still, this is my favorite magazine. Subscibe, its worth your money and a good deal. :)
Wow. That was a long review. Hopefully it was helpful! John on 12-09-2008
