Creative Knitting Magazine, formerly Knitting Digest Magazine, is filled with patterns diagrams and instructions, and the primary goal is to bring knitters a variety of fun-to-knit projects that use familiar stitches and readily available yarns (either through yarn shops or mail order). Each issue of Creative Knitting features 15-25 projects including afghans, clothing, holiday items, dolls and toys created with a diversity of yarns, such as, worsted-weight acrylic, wool and cotton yarns, mercerized cotton, bulky and brushed mohair, baby fingering weight yarns, pearl cotton and crochet and knitting cotton thread.
