    Bass Player: Reviews and opinions

I have been recieving the american 'Bass Player' mag since the very early 1990s and seen it change/develop in its format several times. Yes, I agree about the above 'ad comment' but understand that the mag needs to survive as a business. From a musical point of view I have always beleived that the inclusion of CD to support all the transcriptions, effects units, amps, guitar sounds would be VERY welcome by all, even if this was 2 in 6 months, 1 in 4, 1 in 2 etc, as the development of the mag once was. Or even a website with access to these sounds to supprot review, pieces etc = credibility, and after all....this is music (aural and it should be more than 'JUST' visual)ref other guitar mags around the world.

The problem is that there are to many adds and spectuculair photographs instead of serious interviews.
but furtermore the articles themselves and interviews are somehow "flat" no really into the point and worst of all, it does not read relaxt to me. sometimes I asked myself what is this guy talking of ?
maybe you could find an example of the dutch equivalent "De Bassist" which is more clearly written and not that superficial. Bassplayer reads as a lot of words but nothing really to say and it so frustating because I consider American bassplayers as the best ....
